Echo-Cardiography Technologist, Certified Per Diem / Non-Invasive Cardiology

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Echo-Cardiography Technologist, Certified Per Diem / Non-Invasive Cardiology.

In this role, the successful candidate performs all types of Echocardiography testing. Assists the physicians in the delivery of safe, age appropriate patient care during testing in the Echocardiography Lab. Works collaboratively with the RNs and MDs in a health team forum to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes and quality care. Participates in unit/department/institution performance improvement activities that impact patient and service outcomes based on professional practice standards.

Job Responsibilities:




    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Performs transthorachic echocardiograms, stress echo (both exercise and pharmacological) per department and management guidelines. Captures digital cardiac images and performs measurements correctly, recognizing pathology and/or customizes exam requiring contrast agent accordingly due to lack of image quality.
    • Responds to stat calls accordingly. Reports life threatening pathology to attending Physician or Fellow.
    • Responsible for the preparation of echocardiogram procedure including but not limited to equipment, supplies, instruments and appropriate paperwork.
    • Participates in orientation of new employees as needed.
    • Responsible for daily quality control of equipment and escalates issues as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must possess a Technical Diploma and be a Graduate from an Accredited Cardiac Ultrasound Program, required. Appropriate credential in echocardiography, from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) OR Registered Cardiac Congenial Sonographer (RCCS), required. Current and valid BLS certification - Inpatient facility, required. 1-2 years experience performing echocardiograms, required. Strong communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, customer service, multitasking skills, required. Basic computer skills, required. Experience performing echocardiography with various manufacturer echo machines used in the Echo Lab, required.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
