About the Role
We are hiring a Director of Accounting to play a key leadership role in our faced paced, dynamic company. This position will report to the VP of Finance and Accounting and will be a strategic partner overseeing the monthly close process, financial reporting and analysis, annual GAAP audit and IFRS statutory audits, technical accounting matters, treasury functions, acquisition and integration of businesses, and best practices across all accounting processes. This position will interact and supervise team members in the US and across the globe.
What You'll Do
Lead the monthly accounting close process through close collaboration with the global accounting team and resolve emerging issues, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Ensure financial results are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting standards and established accounting policies and procedures.
Oversee the consolidation and reporting of all financial data necessary for accurate business units and consolidated results through financial analysis and account reconciliation review.
Support the annual GAAP audit and IFRS statutory audits by preparing financial statements and footnotes, documentation support, monitoring progress of the audits and implementing auditing recommendations.
Prepare cash flow reporting, cash forecasting and debt compliance reporting
Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely financial data, ensuring best practices.
Provide operational and technical accounting expertise to support unusual, infrequent and/or complex transactions.
Advise on accounting and financial impacts of new or proposed transactions.
Support ongoing and future acquisition and integration of businesses, ad hoc projects and growth initiatives.
Hire, train, mentor and develop employee(s), including giving directions and delivering evaluations.
Who You Are
Solid technical knowledge of GAAP and ability to apply IFRS standards
Ability to prepare financial statements and footnotes
Strong, timely business judgment and controllership focus
Strong business acumen, with analytical and problem solving skills
Experience optimizing finance processes for speed, agility and insight
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
8+ years of experience in accounting and at least three years in a management capacity.
CPA is highly valued
Public accounting experience with Big 4 or large multinational firm is highly valued
Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels and disciplines within the organization.
Demonstrated ability to develop, document and scale processes to meet the needs of a growing organization.
Successful track record establishing credibility and trust with a diverse, global and remote employee base; solid judgment, diplomacy and negotiation skills and the ability to 'bring people along'.
Prior acquisition and/or integration experience a plus
Preferred experience with NetSuite or other ERP system and strong Excel skills.
