Responsibilities

This role is primarily responsible for generating business insights to enhance the performance of Syneos Deployment Solutions Value, Access and Medical teams. The Director, Business Insights & Analytics coordinates business information acquisition, analysis design + execution, as well as reporting/visualization and has a passion for communicating results. The director acts as an analytics strategy lead and will oversee analysts and managers in execution of analyses and reports/dashboards for internal as well as client stakeholders. This also includes designing tools, analyses, and reports to enhance productivity and measure the impact and effectiveness of Deployment Solutions teams. Acts as point person for timing + quality in delivery of all such reports and insights. Strategic ad-hoc projects are also part of the job function. This role also develops and provides training to the junior team members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to, any of the following:

  • Lead for analytics and reporting services from pre-implementation to project shut down, including gathering specifications for KPIs, report generation, developing/maintaining timelines, working with managers to assign resources, QC, and execute on insight generation activities.
  • Provide strategic + tactical direction for analytics projects and oversee quality control functions on all deliverables including standard and ad hoc reports.
  • Develop and maintain analytics plans.
  • Lead design of new analysis and reporting initiatives.
  • Oversee and aid business analyst + manager development.
  • Manage team to uncover insights with respect to Syneos team impact, effectiveness, activities, trends, and projections regarding performance, efficiencies, and possible improvements.
  • Train analyst team to express business value of insights, reports for both internal stakeholders and clients, as necessary.
  • Prepare and communicate detailed process workflows that describe inputs, execution steps and output.

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

Required: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in quantitative area (e.g., data science, statistics) or related field

Skills:

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in design and execution of U.S. biopharmaceutical field team analytics + reporting projects
  • Experience addressing pharmaceutical medical affairs, market access and clinical education analytics needs, ideally with a mix of clinical educators, medical science liaisons, market access teams, or field reimbursement specialists
  • Strong analysis design expertise, as well as quantitative skills using one or more tools such as: SQL, Python, R, SAS, or Excel power user
  • Good knowledge of CRM systems including but not limited to Salesforce.com, and Veeva.
  • Experience with visual analytics platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik) and pharma data sets
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders in a variety of functional areas including field management, medical affairs, market access, managed care, and brand teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, work under deadlines, manage customer expectations and execute timely deliverables
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong client relationship management skills

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in quantitative sciences
  • Understanding of emerging digital trends in pharmaceutical field team deployment solutions
  • Experience in analysis of omnichannel programs
  • 3+ years managing teams of 5+
