Duties and Responsibilities |
* Develops overarching strategy for undergraduate business student engagement with career development programming and services including coaching appointments, communications, and career resource development. Integrates research-based techniques into all career coaching and leadership activities focused toward undergraduate students.
* Annually reviews and updates
BCS career resources to reflect best and next practice of career and professional development and industry trends.
* Priorities diversity, equity and inclusion into all programming efforts, analyzes how to continue to build culturally competent and anti-racist practices into all materials and services of
BCS to undergraduate students.
* Reviews resumes of students, specifically to prepare for interviews, applications and special annual events such as the Quinlan Ramble.
* Conducts individual career coaching appointments with students and alumni with backgrounds and/ or majors in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Management, Economics, Human Resources, Information Systems, International Business, Sport Management, Marketing and Accounting with Data Analytics.
* Develops and maintains relationships with faculty in the above disciplines, including arranging class presentations on Business Career Services.
* Project manage "A Voice at the Table," an annual event dedicated to creating space for Students of Color within the business school to connect and find community.
* Communicates with and develops relationships with student organizations with an emphasis on the above disciplines and student organizations which promote diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism efforts within the school.
* Creates, promotes manages and delivers career and internship workshops, especially to support University career fair efforts.
* Oversees Leadership Development Component of the Career Student Leaders within Business Career Services. Collaborate with Office Manager to oversee Career Student Leader logistics such as interviews, job postings and scheduling.
* Conducts weekly drop-in coaching hours.
* Represent
BCS efforts to develop and maintain recruiter/employer relationships.
* Maintains familiarity with updates to Handshake, Loyola's jobs and internships platform. Maintains awareness of new opportunities to promote and share with student body.
* Promotes reporting of career and internship outcomes and assists in promotion of student and alumni success stories.
* Participates and contributes to the success of
BCS in special events such as career fairs or career related events.
* Attends open houses, new student orientations and panel discussions as needed
* Completes weekly reports or other tools to share data metrics with Office Manager, including recording all coaching appointments in Handshake as complete, cancelled, etc.
* Assists with training and development of new team members.
* Supports
BCS marketing and outreach initiatives.
* Collaborates across campus with offices such as the Orientation Office, Residence Life, International Students & Scholars Services office, etc.
* Performs other duties as required. |
Qualifications |
- Experience in coaching/ advising, and direct or indirect experience with the industries affiliated with academic areas being advised.
- Familiarity with career assessments (Strong and
MBTI)
- Strong public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Proven verbal and written communication ability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a contributing team member.
- Experience developing programs and services for students. |
