Job Summary:

We're looking for an experienced communicator and project manager to join our CEO Stakeholder Relations team, which helps support the Chair, President and CEO of Allstate. The Communication Senior Consultant I helps develop and implement CEO communications for employees, agents, consumers and customers. They build relationships within and outside the Corporate Brand department; plan and execute CEO events, including virtual and in-person town halls; and draft communications of moderate complexity.

The Corporate Brand department creates value by building and protecting Allstate's reputation. We drive action and advocacy among key stakeholders by telling Allstate's story. We're talented, creative, passionate and strategic individuals who work together to achieve common goals.

Key skills and Responsibilities:
  • Communication: Understand stakeholders and effective communication tactics, know Associated Press style and produce strong content using creative/persuasive writing techniques.
  • Communication Strategy and Planning:Support development and implementation of short- and long-range CEO positioning and communication plans reaching Allstate's employee, agent, consumer and customer stakeholders to improve Allstate's reputation.
  • Content Creation and CEO Prep: Prepare succinct and comprehensive briefing materials using Word and PowerPoint with some coaching.Create thought starters and key messages using the voice, tone and style of the CEO. Stay abreast of current events and research a wide range of topics. Share knowledge through article summaries and proof points. Demonstrate effective presentation and persuasion skills.
  • Project Management: Work with a team to develop, coordinate and execute CEO requests, briefing materials, communication plans and CEO town halls with strong attention to detail. Manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines. Organize project work into discrete tasks, sequencing activities to achieve maximum efficiency. Adapt projects and programs based on stakeholder or business partner feedback.
  • Optimize the CEO Stakeholder Relations Operating Model: Lead tracking and time analysis of CEO engagements. Help develop, propose, review and assess new opportunities for CEO positioning with employees and agents. Understand reputation implications of CEO activities and engagements.
  • Relationship Management: Build strong relationships throughout Corporate Brand, across the Allstate enterprise and with key partners to connect people, organizations and concepts. Enlist internal and external partners for research, writing and other tasks. Manage vendor partnerships. Have the poise and maturity to build relationships with senior leaders, the office of the CEO and the CEO.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Data-Driven Planning:Research and use stakeholder data and analytics insights to inform communication plans and tactics and measure their effectiveness; use insights to recommend and implement enhancements.
  • Interpersonal and Team Skills: Work effectively as a member of a team. Establish new relationships and build rapport. Serve as a liaison between the department and other business areas or vendors.
  • Champion of Culture and Change:Help develop and/orsupport communication strategies and tactics to create an inclusive, empowering and purpose-driven corporate culture. Demonstrate a positive, open and flexible mindset during times of change and ambiguity and encourage others through change.
  • Critical Thinking:Throughanalytical thinking and problem-solving, anticipate operational/program issues and identify preventive measures. Identify, clarify and resolve complex problems within own work area or team. Exercise sound judgement and decision-making when dealing with confidential information.
  • Reputation and Brand Management: Understand and consider reputational impacts in planning; incorporate strategies that protect and build the brand's reputation with multiple stakeholders.
  • Multimedia Communication: Plan and create effective video and other multimedia communications that advance reputation and business goals.
  • Business Acumen: Apply understanding of industry practices and integrate subject matter knowledge with planning, programs and projects.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in communication, marketing, journalism or related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in acorporate relations/communications role, with public relations and/or media experience a plus.
  • Understanding of insurance and financial services preferred.

Compensation offered for this role is$60,100.00-$102,625.00 per yearand is based on experience and qualifications.
