This position is based out of Feeding America's new office location in the heart of downtown Chicago. At Feeding America, we believe in offering a flexible work environment. Employees can be in the office an average of 2-3 days a week (when not travelling for work) and work from home on other days. Employees also have access to a 30-day "work anywhere" program during the course of each calendar year that can be combined with PTO and/or holidays.
The Opportunity
The Director, Supply Chain Technology will lead a team of internal and external professionals to develop and support the Digital Platform Technology products that meet the Supply Chain needs of the network. Provide leadership experience and a collaborative attitude to ensure our business partners and network members have the tools they need to source and share food across the network.
Salary Range: $119,000 to $150,000+ Based on Experience
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the business and network leaders to ensure continued growth and evolution of supply chain technology to deliver exceptional results for our network
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver key metrics & execute with excellence
- Manage IT vendors, external suppliers, and other contractual partners to ensure delivery of competitive service level agreements
- Facilitate strategic planning, work cross-functionally to achieve Supply Chain objectives and drive functional excellence and continuous improvement.
- Create a digital architecture framework and design that will enable proactive, real-time monitoring and alerting, segmentation enablement, and automation of repeatable manual tasks
- Drive successful technology initiatives leveraging process, perseverance, and problem solving
- Develop capability of team
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in leading digital capabilities such as ecommerce, mobile app and customer care
- 3+ years' experience leading large-scale initiatives with an Agile team, including experience with Kanban/Scrum
- 2+ years' experience working with technology in the food industry and/or supply chain
- Advanced problem-solving skills. Ability to work on complex problems requiring strong analytical, conceptual, and quantitative insights
- Experience managing development of capabilities that consume APIs and micro services
- Experience managing external vendors
- Ability to guide and coach team members
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to distill complex business analysis and specifications and communicate complex ideas clearly
- Ability to excel in an fluid environment and lead change within the organization
- Collaborative team player, capable of working well with others but also autonomously when empowered with the right context and direction.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.
