Senior Associate, Compensation and HRIS (Total Rewards) (Hybrid)

Position Overview:

As a member of the Total Rewards team (HR), the Senior Associate will play a key role contributing to the compensation, rewards and HRIS function.

Your responsabilities would include:

  • Serving as the lead compensation analyst responsible for compensation reporting.

  • Consulting for salary recommendations and contribute to market analysis.

  • Be a primary point of contact within HR for Workday, our HRIS, and

  • Be a subject matter expert as a primary administrator of the system, collaborating with the IT department on business process improvement projects, testing new configurations, running reports, entering data, approving tasks, and ensuring compliance with all laws.

  • Administering Pew's rewards and recognition program and will oversee awards granted to staff and recommend enhancements.

As a member of the total rewards team, this position works closely with all areas of human resources (talent acquisition, talent management and development, internal communications, business partnership & employee relations) as well as with other business units in the organization. The senior associate will also lead and contribute to special projects.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for performing quantitative and qualitative analysis to make informed recommendations to drive decisions at Pew. They will serve as the subject matter expert to our clients and all team members related to compensation practices, HR systems and rewards programs. This role determines appropriate salaries for both internal and external candidates while ensuring that market competitiveness and internal equity are maintained.

The Senior Associate will report to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards and is based in Washington, DC. This position is eligible for 60% telework.

Responsibilities:

Compensation

  • Provide consultation as it relates to compensation matters, decisions and practices to our HR Business Partners and internal clients.

  • Ensure that the data for the salary recommendation process is accurate and provide salary recommendation approvals for new hires and all internal staff movement.

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to analyze new and revised job descriptions, select the correct FLSA status, and determine the appropriate placement within Pew's career structure.

  • Perform market analysis, compensation reporting and survey participation for the total rewards team including participating in organization-wide market pricing updates to maintain a competitive compensation program.

  • Ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act(FLSA), D.C. Wage Theft Prevention Act and all wage and labor related legislation.

HRIS

  • Serve as lead for Workday Human Capital Management, Applicant Tracking System and the Advanced Compensation module working with the Workday team on configurations, security updates and complete all required testing throughout the year.

  • Collaborate with the IT team to optimize Workday functionality and improve current business processes.

  • Perform routine audits in Workday and ensure data integrity.

Recognition and Rewards

  • Manage Pew's Recognition and Rewards Program's policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of the current Recognition and Rewards Program through reporting/analysis of usage, surveys and staff focus groups, recommend, and implement enhancements as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor'sdegree or equivalent years of experience in the areas of compensation, benefits, and/or HRIS function.

  • Minimum of 4 years related experience.

  • HRIS experience required, Workday experience a plus.

  • Ability to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plan of action.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including advanced Excel and MS Word.

  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and represent ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing and maintain professionalism and confidentiality with sensitive personnel data.

  • Familiarity with base salary administration strategies, compensation best practices and salary survey completion and interpretation.

  • Ability to run reports and research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plan of action.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with prior experience in positions requiring communication with a broad and diverse audience an attention to detail

Travel:

Occasional travel to conferences, meetings and Pew's Philadelphia office may be required.
