Role purpose:

To provide solutions to our clients' challenges arising from growing investor interest in ESG and climate disclosures, planning and environmental regulatory enforcement and mandatory requirements for integrated sustainable design.

To work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, lead and coordinate Sustainable Design and Strategy services and related deliverables, work closely with clients, develop new areas of business and mentor others in the team.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to develop integrated sustainability strategies and design solutions provide subject matter expert advice to key clients.
  • Develop sustainability key performance indicators, strategies and management plans for planning and design projects and implement them throughout the project duration.
  • Develop sustainability polices, standards, procedures and guidelines at organizational or portfolio levels for key clients.
  • Develop sustainability/ESG programmes and reporting through materiality assessment, benchmarking, gap analysis, KPI identification and stakeholder engagement.
  • Champion high standards of sustainability performance within multi-disciplinary engineering projects, influencing project development and delivering optimal sustainability outcomes.
  • Manage technical and commercial aspects of bid development and project delivery while drawing in expertise from our global LR group.
  • Meet with regulatory authorities and certification bodies and obtaining statutory and certification approvals for sustainability components of projects.
  • Gather data and research information from a range of sources to provide clear, well-written technical reports.
  • Competently undertake own work to an excellent standard and review the work of others, on time and to budget.
  • Being able to manage clients' needs in a confident, professional manner.
  • Support business development with opportunity identification, proposal development and thought leadership.
  • To assess / recommend the time / value of the work to be undertaken for an internal / external client within an agreed fee / cost structure.
  • To discuss / present the deliverable with the internal / external client and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • To pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
  • To assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal / external client feedback as appropriate.
  • To coach other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.



Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:



  • Minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university in Consultancy or master's in management.
  • Experience in Sustainability Consulting, preferably from Big 4 or other strategy/management/Boutique consulting firms.
  • Experience of working in Maritime and associated Industries (Shipping, Ports, Offshore, LNG, etc) would be preferred.
  • Specialist in carbon and sustainability or relevant subject, especially one or two of following skills

    • Carbon/GHG accounting based
    • ESG/Sustainability reporting based on, e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, GRESB, ISSB, etc.
    • Regulatory aspects affecting Sustainability Strategy


  • Relevant technical experience and knowledge of whole-life carbon assessment, analytical tools for embodied and operational carbon, climate risk management, Net Zero Carbon roadmap for large-scale portfolios
  • Experience of development of complex technical reports in line with local/regional regulatory requirements and international best practices.
  • Able to prioritize and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills and able to review the work of others to ensure quality.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively.
  • Be flexible, adaptable, and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other LR or client office locations.
  • Be highly self-motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering sustainable outcomes.
  • Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
