Energy Data Analyst

Position Summary:

Tenaska Power Services has an opening for an Energy Data Analyst. The position will report to the Settlements Manager and is expected to collaborate with, and in some cases support, a number of key staff including Energy Managers, Energy Originators, and Accounting staff. This position will have an active role in validating and reporting energy settlements with a focus on transmission congestion products.

Essential Job Functions:

• Validates energy settlement charges for multiple customers and across multiple energy markets
• Ensure data needed to perform congestion settlement is complete and accurate in internal systems
• Responsible for settlement charge type modeling development and maintenance in TPS's proprietary software system, creating data points and coding equations
• Responsible for creation and maintenance of settlement procedures documentation
• Responsible for analyzing and communicating profit and loss associated with congestion products

Education/Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; Electrical and Computer Engineering preferred (Five years of related experience for a related power industry company may be substituted for a degree)
• Object Oriented Programming knowledge, C# programming, or VBA script is a plus
• Strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good oral and written communication skills
