Senior Manager Security Architecture

As Security Architecture Lead, you will focus on developing detailed architectures, patterns, and strategies for the effective deployment of cyber security across Capital Group on-premises and cloud environments. Working closely with Capital Group application development and IT engineering teams, you will build a strong culture of security into the applications, systems, and technical solutions we deploy across the company. You are a highly resourceful, self-driven individual with the ability to partner, execute, and lead through influence and experience, continually promoting a Security-By-Design mindset across the firm. You will apply in-depth understanding of security and technology risks to develop a robust security architecture that works to support the business objective and growth of Capital Group in the future.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Evaluate and assess technology solutions against established security frameworks.
  • Review and advise development teams during the design phase, supporting application development, infrastructure, and enterprise technology implementations
  • Establish architectural standards for driving DevSecOps practices such as infrastructure as code, and automation built into the CI/CD pipeline
  • Be an advocate for cyber security best practices for the software development community
  • Lead, plan, organize, and coordinate architectural reviews, projects and other activities for the information security team.
  • Research and deploy new technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Develop and establish goals, policies, and procedures for the architecture team.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the business line IT developers to ensure their designs meet established architectural standard
  • Provide strategic advice and consultation to IT leadership.
  • Provide ad-hoc operational and engineering support where required.


Skills and qualifications:
  • Detailed understanding of Cloud Security and Architecture
  • Detailed understanding of application development and information security best practices in the financial sector
  • Experience with various public cloud components and security architectures
  • Skilled in identifying technical risk and mitigation techniques
  • Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with technical audit and risk management
  • Experienced with security architectures, standards, and procedures
  • API programming or other software development experience
  • Knowledge and experience in AWS and Azure platforms
  • Experience working with developers and business partners.

  • You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Security or other technical area
  • You have at least 8-10+ years of experience in security architecture and application development, preferably in the financial sector.
  • You are a technical expert and thought leader who has passion, curiosity and exceptional communication skills
  • You're a self-starter who loves to own things end-to-end.
  • You've solved ambiguous problems by applying frameworks, aligning resources on the goal, executing, learning, and adapting.
  • You are not easily discouraged and focuses on the end result.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • CCSP, CISM, CISSP certification
  • Experience working in the information security operations and engineering domain space.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the developer ecosystem.


Southern California Base Salary Range: $184,252-$313,228

San Antonio Base Salary Range: $165,933-$282,086

San Francisco Base Salary Range: $203,168-$345,386

New York Base Salary Range: $195,333-$332,066

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
