Description

Tenaska, Inc. is looking to hire Senior Transmission Analysts reporting to Omaha, Nebraska (may telecommute from home residence in any state in which company is registered to do business up to 100% of the time). Position is responsible for managing analysis of electric transmission systems using large-scale transmission system models and commercially available software tools as well as tracking interconnection queue processes and studying results. Work directly with the commercial project development team, using the analysis results to determine the siting location, generating capacity, and technology selections for new power generation facilities (primarily renewables and energy storage).

Specific duties of this position include the following: Analyze domestic transmission systems (all Regional Transmission Operators and Independent System Operators) by developing and power flow modeling tools including steady state, short circuit, and stability analysis software. Perform competitive analysis, conduct parametric studies of potential outcomes, and prepare risk assessments of key transmission issues (such as interconnect upgrades and prospective curtailment) related to development projects. Interact with Tenaska's Strategic Development & Acquisitions group to perform due diligence for development projects and potential acquisitions. Complete generator interconnection and transmission service requests needed for asset development, asset management, and acquisition activities. Participate in industry organizations to represent Tenaska's views and opinions as needed to enhance overall asset development, acquisition, and marketing opportunities, and to support existing and future asset operations.

Minimum requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in electrical engineering and ten years' progressively responsible experience as an electrical transmission engineer, analyst, or related position. Experience must include ten years' experience in each of the following: (i) transmission engineering or analysis; (ii) large-scale transmission system models; and (iii) transmission modeling software such as PSLF, PSSe, TARA, or PowerWorld.

Domestic travel to corporate headquarters as needed based on business needs.
