Job Details Description Position is responsible to keep the building systems and process equipment operational at all times. Working with the maintenance supervisor, will analyze and solve technical, electrical and mechanical equipment issues. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including developing wire diagrams, layout drawings and specifications for system or equipment modifications and expansion.
Essential Tasks:
Keep all plant machinery and facilities in proper operating condition. Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), Device Net and AC inverters as problems arise Perform preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance Design and build machinery and electrical related components as required Read blue prints and electrical schematics while troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems Demonstrate and perform Lock Out/Tag Out regulations and follow Good Manufacturing Practices while performing daily tasks Repair, replace and install electrical conduit as needed Skills and Requirements:
Frequent electrical troubleshooting and repair of 120-480v systems – Motor Starter Circuits, VFD’s, Relays, Limit Switches etc. The ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints. Installing, servicing, and repairing conduits, wiring and fixtures. Conducting electronic inspections and tests. Grounding electrical systems. Servicing generators, transformers, motors, and high voltage systems such as scrubber systems. Working with programmable logic/automation controls. Measure, cut, and install conduit and wiring systems. Troubleshoot and/or replace electrical components as needed. Perform preventative maintenance work and inspections on electrical systems. As new systems are installed, the Electrician must follow local, state, and national codes. General mechanical skills. Physical ability to climb numerous flights of stairs, ladders, etc. Any other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance Director, including but not limited to, supporting the plant maintenance staff with breakdowns etc. Will work closely with the automation department. Must demonstrate safety in all of the work performed, wearing proper PPE for the job. (i.e., Gloves, and ARC Flash PPE) Must demonstrate an inclusive, team-oriented culture. Completion of a trade school program applicable to the job. Work Environment:
Standard shift is Monday-Friday 7-5, must be willing to support a 24/7 production environment with a customer service orientation to plant operations. This may include occasional after-hours call-in’s if the night shift or weekend maintenance needs additional support. Human safety is number one in our facility, a strong safety culture must be maintained. Food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices must always be practiced this includes wearing hair nets, uniforms and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, climb ladders, and walk plant floors that could exceed one mile of travel per day. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary as workloads dictate. Must be able to work in hot and cold environments. The employee must have a full range of body movements this includes bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching; command of all five senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste) Use of legs, arms, hands, and fingers to feel objects, use power tools etc. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms. Physical: Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity. Preferences:
State Journeyman license. Previous experience in an industrial environment strongly preferred. Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment. Previous experience with electrical project planning.
