As a Senior Fund Accounting Associate, you'll support our investment and distribution process for American Funds. You have a true interest in accounting and finance with a genuine service orientation. You'll play a critical role on our team whether it be through accounting, fund administration or securities operations. We'll provide all the training you need to develop an expertise in a specific area of our business. Some specialties include daily valuation of securities, trade processing, corporate actions research, collateral management, determining net asset value or financial reporting.

  • You have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or a relevant field of study.
  • You're proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn various accounting related systems.
  • You like digging into numbers, telling stories with data, and are well-acquainted with financial statements.
  • You thrive in team settings. You ask great questions, bounce ideas off others and proactively share your perspective.
  • You are highly detail oriented with demonstrated accuracy in a deadline driven environment.
  • You have an interest or foundational knowledge of securities and the investment industry.
  • You're available and open to work overtime as needed.


Hampton Roads Base Salary Range: $57,366-$91,786

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
