Job Description
Remote: This position is remote within our NC, SC, VA footprint. Although this position is primarily remote, there are occasional events and meetings that may require you to workon-site at one of our Truliant locations. Purpose of the Job The Business Systems Analyst II has a strong working knowledge of all applications administered by Enterprise Service Delivery (ESD) and is regarded as the subject matter expert for multiple key/critical applications. This individual will work in areas of application engineering (administration, requirements, testing & QA, build & release management, vendor management, change management, and system integration). This individual will work closely with other business systems analysts, business units, application development, database administrators, information management, information security, infrastructure services, business analysts and project management for all applications supported by ESD. This individual provides guidance, training and support for the team of business systems analysts and supports the Manager of Enterprise Application Administration and Integration by assuming a leadership role within the department when assigned. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Serves as primary application administrator and subject matter expert (SME) for critical business applications as assigned. Application administration responsibilities include development, testing, product builds and maintenance of products/services for assigned application(s).
- Leads application upgrade planning, management, and implementation efforts involving multiple cross functional teams and vendors to ensure successful upgrade using project management skills. Plans, conducts and coordinates the testing and implementation of hot fixes, releases, upgrades and the test database refreshes.
- Assists with release build and management planning, defects tracking and quality assurance process to improve application performance and reliability.
- Performs, analyzes, and troubleshoots functional, application, and regression tests using manual/automation test cases/scripts. Creates, updates, reviews, and executes test cases and leverage testing automation to improve speed and efficiencies in testing.
- Assist with day-to-day activities, upgrades, projects, and product builds as assigned by Business Systems Specialists.
- Responsible for evaluating enhancements, releases, or new product offerings for the assigned applications and identifying and communicating the business value and/or the operational efficiencies to be gained to the business units. Meets with business units and systems owners to define functional and operational requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
- Writes/Executes SQL scripts as needed for troubleshooting, reporting, data analysis and other statistical/analytical needs.
- Assists with after hours support to perform key updates such as rate changes, form changes, product changes, member impacting changes, critical issues, and upgrades etc.
- Accountable for the management and resolution of tickets opened with vendors for software implementations and applications they administer. Adheres to change control processes for all applications assigned.
- Monitors the performance of vendors/service providers to assure quality and service levels are maintained. Immediately reports any situations where service and support levels are not within standards.
- Utilizes the vendor client site, focus and advisory groups, and training events to stay informed of all applicable information about assigned core business applications.
- Responsible for assuring all work effort conforms to the current processes/procedures/policies utilized by the team assigned for ongoing application administration.
- Serves as Level-2 support for any critical business application related issues. Assists senior engineer with projects and other corporate efforts as assigned.
- Responsible for ensuring integrity of systems through upstream and downstream impact analysis as well as system integration impact when implementing a change.
- Responsible for the coordination and work effort associated to the configuration, integration, testing and implementation of new applications as assigned.
- Maintains detailed documentation for active issues, new processes, updates to existing processes, etc. using tools like Visio and One Note.
- Proactively works with the PMO and sponsoring business unit to support the development of the budgeting, scoping, planning and implementation efforts for assigned projects. Lead corporate projects work effort as assigned.
- Responsible for conducting yearly audit for access control across all critical applications administered by the team and working closely with business units to review and resolve any issues. Adheres to and maintains knowledge in banking compliance standards relative to the products and services supported by the applications they administer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have working knowledge and a demonstrated understanding of all core business applications used within the Credit Union, as well as a current understanding of how the core business applications are configured, and are being used by respective business units
- Must have a strong understanding of the functionality of the application(s), the products/services and business processes supported by the application(s)
- Must understand the security aspects of the application(s) in regards to user access, user roles, imported data, exported data and data storage
- Must understand the integration of other applications and their associated security aspects
- Must have SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) working knowledge
- Must have Agile (Project Management, Change Execution) knowledge
- Must have ability to write and execute complex SQL queries to assist with troubleshooting issues and vendor support
- Must have strong understanding of the QA lifecycle, with the ability to perform unit, integration and UA testing
- Must have the ability to track and drive the resolution to testing defects
- Must have ability to write and execute testing automation scripts
- Must be proficient in HTML and XML Must understand the definition of the data fields within the application(s) and the application's database structure
- Must have a working knowledge of the compliance standards associated to the products and services supported by assigned application(s)
- Must be knowledgeable in developing and maintaining detailed application administration documentation
- Must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations exercising flexibility, critical thinking skills and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess a working knowledge of business process mapping and project management
- Must have expert knowledge of assigned core business applications
- Must have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Must have ability to understand all business processes within the Credit Union, as well as understanding the underlying technologies supporting those business processes
- Must have an understanding of project planning and how to conduct projects within the Project Plan Methodology of Truliant
- Must have good interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible, compassionate
- Must be skilled at interviewing, listening, observing, and modeling
- Must be able to facilitate group meetings
- Must be proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Project
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills required, with the ability to research issues, summarize findings, and make meaningful recommendations

- Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently

- Must be flexible to work after hours during weekdays and weekends as required
- Must be able to complete all assignments with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping required
- Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
- Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds
Education and Background
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Must have at least five years' experience supporting critical application software required (on premise and SaaS) to include medium to complex troubleshooting, research, ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, and maintain procedural documentation. Experience in the financial services industry or with core systems may be considered in lieu of the experience requirement.
- Must have previous experience working on complex projects through completion
- Working knowledge of the financial industry fundamentals required
- Experience with Smartbear software preferred
- Experience with SQL, HTML, and XML preferred
- Project management experience preferred
- Certification in Business Analysis preferred
- Experience with Fiserv software solutions preferred
