Clinical Nurse Coordinator - GI Surgical Oncology GI Surgical Oncology Full Time 79222BR Job Summary The Nurse Coordinator is a clinical leader that delivers direct patient care in the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery (HPB), GI, Skin, and Sarcoma Section (HPB-GISS) program at UCSF Medical Center, specifically in the HDFCCC. This Nurse Coordinator is experienced and highly skilled with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of standards of practice, the major treatment modalities, symptom management, supportive care, and patient education. At this operational level, the Nurse Coordinator proactively utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide safe, compassionate care; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs. The Nurse Coordinator partners with the referring providers, inpatient & outpatient APPs and RNs, Nurse Managers, and others in clinical and admin practice areas. The Nurse Coordinator utilizes an interdisciplinary approach across the continuum of care with adherence to National Patient Safety Goals set forth by regulatory requirements. The Nurse Coordinator is recognized and utilized as a clinical resource and demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization.
