Purpose: To add value to the company through daily leadership of the various assembly and off-line operations, ensuring the production of quality products at the lowest possible cost. Position primarily serves immediate team members with which a professional relationship must be maintained.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the production department(s) which includes assigning work, encouraging team involvement, scheduling work, ensuring needed equipment is maintained and purchased, and developing and following departmental budget
  • Foster employee engagement, empowerment, and team work.
  • Coach team members, through problem solving, to identify problem areas and solve them
  • Monitor production orders or schedules to ensure product is manufactured, and scheduled delivery dates are met in order to plan department operations
  • Coordinate department schedule and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of product meets specifications
  • Train team members on procedures, methods, problem solving, prints, programming, quality requirements, and safety
  • Coach team members on safety improvements/surveys and department inspections, and follow-up on safety issues
  • Utilize manager and/or supervisor to assist in solving unresolved work-related problems
  • Assist with machine set-up, preventative maintenance, and machine repair when necessary
  • Aid on-line at critical production points
  • Assist manager and/or supervisor to uniformly, consistently, and fairly administer applicable plant policies practices, and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of production within department
  • Comply with all DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
  • Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required

Qualifications:

  • A combination of education and experience, generally acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience
  • Familiar with lean concepts
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong willingness to take initiative
  • High Integrity
  • Strong accountability skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to:

  • Work effectively with limited supervision
  • Maintain good working relationships with all plant personnel
  • Exhibit mechanical aptitude
