Senior Quality Engineer

We are seeking to hire a talented Senior Quality Engineer to join our team located in Pleasanton, CA facility. This person will have the below specific duties:



  • Serve as point person for major quality issues related to the robotics business and the safety business.
  • Hold regular meetings with stakeholders to review status of quality KPI's and issue resolution.
  • Use and deploy SW tools (Atlassian JSM) to meet business objectives including capturing and prioritizing issues/requests, dashboarding status, and performing analytics on relevant data to monitor organizational performance regarding quality.
  • Develop and improve QMS procedures and processes, analyzing current and future needs.
  • Provide training on QMS and perform internal reviews across HR, Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure consistent QMS implementation.
  • Work closely with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, and Service to facilitate quality improvements.
  • Capture organizational lessons-learned and drive continuous process improvements.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide strong leadership and expertise to ensure Omron's products are designed and manufactured in accordance with Omron's quality standards, process guidelines, and best practices.
  • Use KPIs to ensure business quality targets are met and quality improvement initiatives are effective.
  • Work closely with our Global Quality (GQ) and Global Sales and Service (OEXs) partners to maintain strong alignment on quality processes and priorities and to foster collaborative and productive relations.
  • Own and maintain the QMS (ISO-9001) and EMS (ISO-14001) compliance for the business including all associated documentation, organizational training, internal and external audits, and planning and execution of continuous improvements.
  • Lead a cross-functional quality team (dotted-line) from Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Warranty, and Service to ensure organizational quality goals are met and quality improvement initiatives are well-planned and successfully executed.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, collaboration, trust, and respect-for-all within the organization.
  • Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner


Job Requirements:



  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from a four-year college or related technical school. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in manufacturing and quality assurance. Prior management experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 implementation.
  • Sound understanding of Six Sigma methodologies and facilitating process improvement projects using PDCA, DMAIC methods or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and working knowledge of software development and deployment.
  • Strong leader with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent team builder with proven leadership abilities and well-developed emotional intelligence.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to enable data-driven decisions.
  • Proven ability to manage expectations and to resolve problems and conflicts within a matrixed organization.
  • Working knowledge of software tools (Office365, MS Teams/SharePoint).
  • Thorough knowledge of JSM and Salesforce as quality tools
  • Proven ability to serve as a change agent for continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 - $155,000 a year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
