Insulator Journeyman

Job duties may include but are not limited to the following:

Install insulating materials and protective jacketing (metal/PVC) to piping, ductwork, or other mechanical systems
• Work in various environments
• Measure and cut materials needed for covering pipe and duct surfaces, use tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors
• Prepare surfaces for insulation application
• Effectively communicate with team members, trades, and customers to accomplish the scope of work assigned
• Onsite training for blueprint reading will be provided
• Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, and adhere to safety standards
• Promote safe workplace by participating in safety training, identifying job hazards, wearing correct PPE, and observing for oneself and others
• Complete tasks such as loading, unloading, cleaning, and sweeping
• Conduct physical and accurate inventory jobsite material and equipment
• Complete other duties as assigned

On-the-job training is available. This position is safety-sensitive.

Basic Requirements / Requisitos Basicos:

• Must have completed an insulation apprenticeship
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School Diploma/GED
• Driver's License
• Prolonged periods standing and working outside.
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50lbs periodically

• Willingness to safely work from heights including ladders, scaffolding, and lifts (safety training will be provided)

• Must possess basic math skills
• Must be willing to join the applicable labor union, Heat And Frost Insulators Local 18

Preferred Requirements / Requisitos Preferidos:

• Knowledge of basic tools and their applications preferred but not required
