Position Summary
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the Illinois Eye and Ear (IEE) is seeking multiple junior/senior level faculty to join the Department in each of the following Divisions: Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Pediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus, and Retina. The physicians will also have clinical opportunities at our satellite clinic, 55th and Pulaski (FFP), Millennium Park Eye Center (MPEC), as well as contractual agreements through our clinical and academic partners.

The Divisions of Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Pediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus, and Retina are part of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, which is a comprehensive department characterized by the breadth and depth of clinical and research expertise and productivity.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The full-time, tenure track positions will involve outpatient and inpatient clinical practice, medical student, resident and fellow education, and academic pursuits including clinical and/or basic science research. There are opportunities for substantial research support and time. The faculty members will also be eligible to apply for NEI K12/Independent Clinician Vision Scientist (ICVS) Development Program.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    Requirements include board eligibility or certification in ophthalmology, post-graduate fellowship training in subspecialty is expected, and eligibility for medical licensure in Illinois.
