Description: The Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applications and nominations for Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases. The Division Chief's responsibilities are as follows: Administration/Leadership Enhance and build Divisional programs and promote a vision for clinical and translational research, training, and community outreach. Manage the Division's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and resource allocation for programs and initiatives. Develop and execute strategic plans for the Division, aligning with the goals of the Department of Medicine, College of Medicine, and UIC. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Division and the broader medical community. Clinical Activities Serve as attending physician for resident- and fellow-supported inpatient and outpatient services. Supervise advanced care practitioners, fellows, residents, and medical students. Research Activities Actively engage in and support investigator-led national, federally-funded cutting-edge clinical research to treat and prevent COVID-19, HIV, and other infectious diseases. Publish and support publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences. Training/Education Recruit, oversee and mentor a team of ID specialists with expertise in general ID, transplant ID, infection prevention, outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy, HIV, addiction medicine, telehealth, mobile health and global health. Collaborate with the Program Director to nurture and grow a vibrant and engaged ID Fellowship Training Program. Outreach/community engagement Work with community members and stakeholders to strengthen Division impact. Qualifications:
