YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Automation Support Specialist opportunity in our Guymon processing facility which harvests over 21,500 animals daily. This position is part of a specialized team responsible for supporting all phases of design, development, installations, testing, and maintenance of all automation and robotic equipment and systems used for production on a designated shift. The specialist will monitor, identify, and troubleshoot shortcomings and issues in existing processes, systems, and procedures, using change management to resolve them while adhering to workplace and food safety protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Troubleshoot automatic and robotic systems using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
  • Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on automatic and robotic systems or components.
  • Assist engineers in the design, installation, configuration, or application of robotic systems.
  • Train robots, using artificial intelligence software or interactive training techniques, to perform simple or complex tasks, such as designing and carrying out a series of iterative tests of chemical samples.
  • Manufacture, install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, devices, systems, and end-of-arm tools or conveyors.
  • Works under guidance (but not constant supervision) to analyze data trends for use in reports to help guide decision-making.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, local, and company policies and procedures about workplace safety.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of management to ensure automated equipment operates efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:



  • Two-year technical degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Office; Word and Excel and COGNOS, preferred.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English, and ability to interpret blueprints.


Preferred:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field


SCHEDULE



  • Fifty (50) hour work week depending on schedule.

  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move above 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment requires the position to wear hearing protection at all times on the production floor
  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
