JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Post-doctoral positions in host-pathogen interactions and bacterial physiology NIH-funded post-doctoral positions in molecular microbiology are available in laboratory of Mauricio H. Pontes at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, in Hershey, PA. We seek motivated scientists to join a research program focused on investigating mechanisms used by symbiotic intracellular bacteria to maintain cellular homeostasis and interact with their eukaryotic host-cells. Minimum qualifications PhD with training in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular entomology, and/or bacteriology. Preferred Demonstration of scientific productivity in the form of peer-reviewed publication(s). Responsibilities Design and conduct rigorous and original scientific research by designing, performing and interpreting experiments. Actively participate in the writing of research manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. Supervise and train graduate trainees and/or technicians. Salary and Benefits Salary is based on NIH Postdoctoral Stipend levels and will vary based on levels of experience. Entry level-post doctoral scholars have an annual salary of US $ 61,000 and benefits.
