Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Camden is seeking a Program Coordinator I in the Division of Student Affairs. The Program Coordinator of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs the day-to-day operations of the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, including chapter advising, university compliance and viability, accreditation, and student programming management. The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting and working directly with the fraternity and sorority life community, including chapters (both recognized and forming/re-forming), individual affiliated members, chapter advisers, alumni, and local, regional, and (inter)national headquarters and corporate offices, to create a collaborative environment which fosters the success of students involved in fraternity and sorority life, as well as positive chapter outcomes. The Program Coordinator advises council leadership (Intergreek Council, College Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, and Cultural Greek Council) and works closely with a group of fraternity and sorority presidents, executive board members, and committee chairs to support their chapters' success in upholding and achieving individual chapter goals as well meeting the requirements of the University.
The Program Coordinator will have an abiding concern for and commitment to serving the diverse needs of the university and fraternity and sorority life community, student development, and the active promotion of an inclusive, civil, open, and respectful environment while focusing on areas of risk management and liability, preventative education, and event management.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience plus 2 years of experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience plus 2 years of experience. Experience in higher education/student affairs, including graduate school programs, preferred with experience advising fraternities and sororities organizations, large-scale program development and risk management compliance; demonstrated supervisory experience with student organizations; experience with programming and working with reservation/event software, ideally EMS; willingness to achieve desired learning outcomes and flexibility; high computer literacy with ability to master new computer software applications.

  • Risk management and liability mitigation and preventative education around issues of substance abuse, bystander intervention, and conflict management.
  • Event management, operations management, and student leadership expertise.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the areas of programming, advising, budget management, and the development of training programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Must work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, event-driven environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, and Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree, preferred within the fields of higher education, organizational development, leadership, or related fields.

  • Skilled in communication, including public presentations.
  • Ability to meet assigned objectives and goals within specified time periods.
  • Ability to function independently, professionally, and ethically.
  • Knowledge of fiscal accounting and personnel management.
  • A thorough understanding of the complex operations and structure of a university.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and evidence of ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
  • Must possess a general understanding and knowledge of university policies and procedures as they relate to fraternity and sorority affairs.
  • Requires tact, courtesy, common sense, excellent people-to-people skills, and a commitment to customer service.
  • Experience with EMS (Event Management Software) and Engage software.

Equipment Utilized
Maintains familiarity with desktop computer, EMS Software, Kronos, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), Fax, Copier, Anthology, Inc.'s Engage, EAB/Navigate, and Google Suite.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The Program Coordinator works in an open-office environment, with multiple professional staff members sharing the space and so must manage the environment accordingly. The position occasionally requires evening and weekend work.
