Overview
Utah State University Extension invites applications a Program Coordinator position. The Cultural Belonging (CUBE) Program aims to address program adaptation to improve Utah State University Extension efforts in serving communities from different backgrounds by providing foundational cultural pedagogy, core technical and personal competencies training, and support for culturally customized programming, promoting alignment with the unique needs of Utah's diverse population.

The CUBE Program Coordinator is a new position responsible for overseeing the implementation and coordination of the programing in USU extension offices and programs statewide. This position works under the direction of the CUBE program statewide Director.

The coordinator will establish a systematic process for ongoing assessment of USU Extension areas' needs and create educational content or identify evidence-based options to address identified needs effectively.

This position is budgeted for 2 years, but may be longer contingent upon funding.

This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and oversee CUBE's community network, facilitating connections with organizations and agencies.
  • Organize cultural belonging workshops and develop outreach strategies for diverse communities.
  • Handle extension programming requests on the CUBE platform, ensuring a transparent and efficient process.
  • Support CHW's USU Extension network for practicum hours in cultural belonging programming through different extension settings and other organizations.
  • Coordinate logistics and collaboration for CUBE's workgroup activities.
  • Coordinate CUBE's Community Health Worker (CHW) team within Extension programs, focusing on culturally relevant educational content.
  • Conduct needs assessments and data transformation for adaptive programming and training materials.
  • Manage data collection, storage, and analysis to support program evaluation and reporting.
  • Assist in developing educational content and coordinating CUBE initiatives with faculty and experts.
  • Act as CUBE's liaison with community-based organizations and CHW State organizations.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, and support for CUBE's CHWs, including invoicing and training.
  • Assist CUBE Director and Home and Community Grand County faculty with administrative tasks, scheduling, communication, and event coordination.
  • Write and/or assist with writing grants and proposals as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program(s).
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Utilize online platforms to manage and enhance communication, engagement, and support for program participants, ensuring timely and effective follow-up to address their needs and monitor their progress work is varied and may be undefined.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as public health, community health education, social work, sociology, psychology, cultural studies, education or other closely related fields, plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Spanish
  • Experience in community health programming or related field, with a focus on cultural belonging and serving diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in grant writing, budgeting, and fiscal management.
  • Familiarity with program evaluation and assessment methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Possess cultural humility and competency, demonstrating sensitivity, respect, and openness to diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives within the community
  • Knowledge of principles and practices related to specific program.
  • Knowledge of research and information gathering methods and procedures.
  • If applicable, knowledge of grant development, implementation, budgeting, fiscal control, and reporting.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Skilled at records maintenance.
  • Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
  • Ability to interact with communities, faculty and/or staff in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Program specific knowledge, skills, and abilities as described in recruitment notices.
