SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Perform duties to setup and operate various automated machines throughout assigned department and resolve common operating difficulties. Responsible to direct and train lower level workers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Work from CNC programs, drawings, work instructions or work orders, control plans, quality specifications, and instructions.



  • Setup, adjust and operate CNC machines, production equipment machinery and advanced variation tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operating difficulties. Notify Maintenance Mechanic, and Supervisor of necessary repairs.
  • Perform repair work on standardized parts.
  • Request necessary supplies and tooling as required.
  • Order tooling or fixture repairs, take items to Toolroom and retrieve when repairs complete.
  • Train and direct departmental employees on work assignments, and review quality of work.
  • Machine production parts to specifications using production equipment such as lathes, milling machines, hone or ECM.
  • Operate automated machines in assembly cell as required.
  • Complete time and production reports.
  • Calculate dimension and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.


Use hoist, calipers, scales, micrometers and common hand tools.

Follow safety rules and keep work area in clean and orderly condition.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
