Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Come grow with us! INVISTA has an immediate need for a Shipping and Receiving Specialist. This position is based at the Texas Technology Center in Katy, TX. This is a key role ensuring all our products reach our customers efficiently, safely and on time. This includes shipping of chemicals and coordinating with third party suppliers.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare finished goods and accompanying documentation for shipment, ensuring compliance with customer requirements
  • Coordinate with freight carriers for timely and accurate pickups and deliveries
  • Receive components from external suppliers, verifying accuracy and quality
  • Review and process documentation, updating the ERP system accordingly
  • Label components for identification and organize them in the warehouse
  • Maintain and operate the UPS computer system for shipments and tracking
  • Request and track proofs of delivery when necessary
  • Complete necessary paperwork for hazardous material shipments, including SDS
  • Lifting, up to 50 pounds
  • Conduct inspections on incoming products to ensure quality and compliance
  • Coordinate pickup and disposal of site generated hazardous waste

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Three (3) or more years' experience working in an Industrial Chemical/Oil shipping role
  • SAP experience
  • Hazmat shipping certifications - DOT & IATA (International Air Transportation Association
  • Experience with Hazardous and Non-hazardous domestic and export shipping
  • Experience with Hazmat ground and air shipping domestic and export required (and associated documentation including Bill of Lading, Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods, etc.)
  • Experience with various carrier requirements and methods required (ie FedEx, DHL, Hot-shot, freight, etc)
  • Experience with hazardous chemical handling and associated safety practices and PPE requirements

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Hazwoper training
  • IMDG preferred (international maritime dangerous goods)
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience in Procurement/Purchasing and sourcing
  • Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft product experience
  • Experience with waste manifest approval and associated DOT requirements preferred
  • Knowledge regarding hazardous waste disposal requirements and RCRA preferred

1. U.S. Citizenship or lawful permanent resident status, or

2. Be eligible to receive an export authorization (a license) under the Export Control Regulations
