Position Highlights:
  • Lead Registered Nurse - Healthcare Transformation
  • Location: Swedish Hospital - Chicago, IL
  • Full Time, 40 hours/week
  • Monday - Friday
  • Day shift

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in clinical field, e.g. BSN
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure required.
  • Current CPR certification with AHA or Red Cross required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in increasingly responsible clinical positions including some experience with leading or supervising others
  • Preferred fluency in Spanish, Arabic, Korean, Vietnamese or another language.

General Summary:

The Lead Registered Nurse is responsible for performing care and assisting the Practice Manager in the day-to-day supervision of Medical Assistants or other clinicians and allied health staff within specific clinical protocols.

Responsibilities and Functions

  • Participates in the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of clinical assigned staff.
  • Schedules staffing to meet changing workload needs.
  • Provides professional and technical support to staff and troubleshoots the delivery of patient care. Responds to requests from families and other concerned patients regarding patient care issues.
  • Identifies training needs for staff and facilitates staff development. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of training, orientation, and clinical education programs.
  • Maintains clinic ordering functions for multiple clinic sites
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with standards, laws, regulations, and procedures. Recommends new and/or revised policies and procedures to the Practice Manager.
  • Reviews and uses clinical and medical records to determine health care patterns and assignment of appropriate resources. Ensures corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Transformation teams, including Patient Scheduling Representative and CHW, and Community CARE programs. Other projects and duties as assigned
  • Recognition of the physical exam process and the ability to record the exam and or procedure findings and details.
  • Works directly with providers to provide clinical support, which may include prior authorizations, clinical triage, result discussions, and medication management.
