Overview

Deutsche Bank is looking for an experienced, Vice President level Coverage Banker to join the Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI) Coverage team in New York to cover Insurance companies and associated transactions in the Reinsurance market. You will help with the build out and scaling of the NBFI team's Insurance vertical and its convergence with Alternative Asset Managers; you will be required to conduct corporate credit analysis of Insurance companies, including in the context of Reinsurance transactions involving Letters of Credit. Furthermore, you will develop and cultivate strong client relationships with assigned multinational clients in this sector, and coordinate with their global locations to deliver exemplary client service in a professional, ethical, and conscientious manner. As a Vice President, you will be responsible for supporting senior bankers in covering a portfolio of NBFIs, while also leading execution teams on mandated transactions while assisting in positioning Deutsche Bank to be the first point of contact for the clients' Treasury, Finance, and Operations teams and as their preferred banking partner for the full suite of products offered by the Corporate Bank. You will also be expected to build your own client portfolio and client connectivity, identify opportunities, structure complex solutions, build out relevant product applications and, above all, adhere to and comply with the Bank's compliance and regulatory policies.

What You'll Do

  • Lead day-to-day execution of mandated deals, and importantly, the creation of credit memos for new transactions. Identify and provide mitigants for risk and take a leadership position, together with product, as the first line of defense

  • Facilitate strategic internal and external initiatives to build Deutsche Bank's NBFI Coverage franchise with the Insurance sector and reputation in the market. Through close cooperation with other NBFI Regional Relationship Management and product teams, ensure that Deutsche Bank is the provider of choice for clients and that all avenues for working with our global client base are actively coordinated in a logical manner

  • Assist senior bankers in the coverage, origination, and relationship management efforts for NBFI Clients across Deutsche Bank's global product suite with a particular focus on Corporate Bank solutions, including Strategic Corporate Lending, Trade Finance & Lending, Cash Management, Trust & Agency Services, Securities Services and Foreign Exchange & Rates Hedging

  • Maintain adherence to high standards in the production of internal and external materials, including but not limited to pitch decks, product pamphlets, brochures, strategy, and business review pages, across the team

  • Provide industry, market, and regulatory expertise to Global NBFI Coverage and Corporate Bank product teams to maximize sector penetration and ensure opportunities are undertaken in an efficient manner

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and Deutsche Bank policies, including but not limited to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements in all dealings, interactions, and transaction activities with existing and potential clients

How You'll Lead

  • Generate ideas and execute on divisional and team initiatives to grow wallet share and produce significant, sustainable revenues, while recognizing revenue opportunities to cross-sell products for all areas of the Bank

  • Assist NBFI Regional Head to form viable business strategies, implementation plans, as well as identifying issues, gaps, and process improvements through open communication

  • Guide, mentor and develop junior members of the team to accelerate their careers within coverage

Skills You'll Need

  • Academic degree with strong credentials, preferably within Finance, Economics, or related field. Extensive experience within the financial sector, with relevant coverage and credit experience

  • Knowledge of the Insurance sector and client base with thorough understanding of industry relevant themes and regulation; expertise in insurance/reinsurance regulations and reinsurance credit structures preferred

  • Robust financial and credit fundamentals with formal credit training preferred. Strong quantitative, numerical, and analytical skills with Excel-based modeling experience

  • Understanding of KYC, AML, risk management and risk mitigation

  • FINRA Series 63 and 79 license holders preferred (licenses required within 6 months of employment)

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $130,000 to $200,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
