EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous office experience.
  • Greater preference given to individuals with previous medical office or switchboard experience.

  • Pass Pre-Employment drug Test

  • Well groomed-adhere to dress code (Uniformed Position)
  • Helpful and Friendly
  • Enjoy working with people.
  • Knowledge of Hospital as well as the surrounding area is required.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Hospital Greeters welcome and assist patients, their families and visitors entering the hospital. Greeters answer questions, provide information such as patient floor and room number, utilize internal software to register visitors, and direct people to the hospital location they need, thereby creating a caring and efficient atmosphere.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Cordially greets visitors and patients upon arrival. Ascertains patients and visitors needs and directs them accordingly, including visitor registration.
  • Provides assistance to patients and visitors by providing assistance with wheelchairs, escorting or transporting people who may need help to their destination, assist with calling a cab.
  • Contacts Security, Environmental Services, or Facilities Management for assistance when necessary.
  • Monitors overall appearance of the hospital entrance.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.

  • Ambassadors must be able to stand/walk for time of assignment.
  • Must know how to use a computer to access information.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, multi-task and relate tactfully to patients, their family, and/or friends, as well as to the staff.
