GENERAL FUNCTION


The Regional EyeCare Director supports delivery of the EYEXAM of California ("EYEXAM") mission and success of its corporate and sublease locations by working as a team with the President of EYEXAM and the Clinical Director to recruit, select, contract, orient, evaluate, develop, motivate and retain doctors and supporting office staff who will work collaboratively with store management to deliver superior quality of care, patient experience, OD/associate engagement and business results in all locations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Sales and Income Delivery

    • Develop and deliver planned office sales and exam plans

      • Coach and develop ODs, and Office Staff on building sales, increasing exams, and increasing NPS
      • Track results; analyze overall trends and specific impact of action plans in opportunity offices

    • Use OD/MSS meetings to ensure Corporate ODs and MSS's develop collaborative action plans to improve quality of care, patient experience and business results

  • Optometric Coverage

    • Support recruiting for/maintain a pool of candidates for new and vacant positions; interview candidates as needed.
    • Apply competency-based OD selection process
    • Orient new and existing ODs to new locations
    • Identify and address coverage deficiencies

  • Customer and Patient Satisfaction

    • With Supervisor, implement OD-based analysis and action plans as directed to improve NPS; Coach and support OD behaviors that support NPS improvement efforts

  • Communication/Culture

    • With Supervisor's input and support, identify and lead problem-solving and action-oriented communication about significant optometric issues affecting ODs
    • With store market managers, coordinate Corporate OD involvement in OneSight activities

  • Training

    • Coach and develop employed ODs to increase quality and NPS, matching the needs of individual doctor offices with existing programs
    • Support the Supervisor in developing new, value-added OD and technician training programs and tools

  • Policy and Process Development and Implementation

    • Implement policies and guidelines as set by the EYEXAM Board of Directors and Quality Assurance Committee; recommend policy revisions as needed

  • Clinical - Office Design, Equipment & Delegation

    • Support testing and evaluation of new eye care products, technology and procedures for products and services provided through technicians

  • Vendor Relations/Competition

    • Coordinate ophthalmic vendor contacts with employed and sublease ODs for various optometric activities, including regional and national meetings, tests, and training programs

  • Managed Vision Care

    • Upon request by EyeMed management, encourage active participation as provider for group directed programs and compliance with quality assurance by sublease doctors

  • Best Practice Management

    • Monitor guidelines for Medicare and insurance coding and billing related to eye exams and related covered services to optimize revenue in compliance with the law and guidelines
    • Maintain clinical competency in diagnosis and treatment of ocular pathology and co-management of disease and pre-/post-surgical patients

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


  • O.D. degree and O.D. license in California
  • 10+ Years Experience in Optical Industry

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
