Overview

Deutsche Bank is seeking a Vice President to join the Workout and Recovery Group in the Americas as a Workout Relationship Manager (RM).Reporting to the Head of Workout and Recovery in the Americas the RM will have their own dedicated portfolio of distressed credits from across all of Deutsche Bank's businesses in the Americas. The RM will monitor and manage the portfolio and will develop a workout strategy to assist in the turnaround or exit of distressed credits. The RM is also responsible for reserve reporting and regulatory treatment of distressed credits. The RM will be a self-starter, able to manage their own workload with minimal guidance, and able to train or develop more junior team members.

What You'll Do

  • Develop a full understanding of the distressed credits in your portfolio- both business fundamentals and the structure of the loan. Undertake due diligence for credits transferred or transferring into workout by way of meetings with the Business Credit Team and Deal Team as necessary

  • Attend Quarterly Watchlist meetings for all Deutsche Bank businesses in the US with a view to identifying deteriorating credits as part of Deutsche Bank's early warning process

  • Working with Deal Teams and Workout Senior Credit officers - Prepare and present to relevant Senior credit approval committees' transactions and strategies for workout of a distressed credit. Key to these presentations is the ability to defend and justify strategies

  • As primary Workout officer on a file- Assist Credit Officers as necessary with preparation of ongoing credit and rating review as well as other tasks as necessary

  • Liaising with external network of advisors/co-lenders and lawyers to remain informed and on top of market developments

  • Be responsible for Provisions and Regulatory ratings for each name in the portfolio- early identification and communication of changes to provisions/ratings through careful monitoring of the portfolio is key

How You'll Lead

  • The Relationship Manager needs to be comfortable engaging directly with top tier clients and senior business and take ownership of workout strategy

  • Expected to be a seasoned SME who is able to offer guidance and expertise with more junior team member

Skills You'll Need

  • Degree level education or equivalent. Extensive work experience

  • Workout Experience is preferred however a Seasoned credit officer with broad experience and knowledge of the distressed credit cycle who wishes to transition into workout will be considered. Experience in restructuring advisory firms and law firms will also be considered

  • Deep Understanding of Lev Fin and/or Commercial Real Estate

  • Knowledge of CH11/ and the legal rights of lenders in distressed scenario

  • Proven analytical and financial modeling skills and experience with review and negotiation of loan documentations

  • Proven credit analysis skills and track record; ability to efficiently analyze information to quickly identify the key risk factors and to identify solutions

  • Knowledge in regulatory framework in region and fully versed in internal policies and procedures

  • A strong team player, capable of working alongside colleagues in other credit teams, businesses as well as external advisors and lawyers

  • A self starter, able to manage their own workload with minimal guidance from senior members of the team

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model. Deutsche Bank provides reasonable accommodations to candidates and employees with a substantiated need based on disability and/or religion.

The salary range for this position in New York, NY is $125,000.00 to $220,000.00. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
