The Position

The Accounting Manager at ASQ will be a part of our highly collaborative and team-focused finance team. The person coming into this role will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of ASQ's General Ledger Accounting and Financial Reporting.

Salary range for this position is $86,000 - $107,750 per year.

Main Responsibilities



  • Hire, train, manage, and develop qualified financial accounting staff to effectively carry out department functions, provide excellent customer service and provide for the continuity of managerial and specialized skills.
  • Design and maintain financial accounting processes, including journal entries and general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial close processes ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
  • Design and maintain accounting processes, including implementing process efficiencies related to all aspects of the financial management function.
  • Continually review the company's financial accounting processes and complete any necessary corrections and/or recommendations including the timing and approach to adopting new accounting standards.
  • Prepare necessary documents, schedules and/or forms to support ASQ's tax, audit, budget and forecast processes and management needs.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in cash forecasting and liquidity management.
  • Drive efficiency, process documentation and process improvements throughout accounting function.
  • Promote and foster collaboration, engagement, process improvement, and knowledge transfer within the Financial Management team and other business units.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


Bring Your Best: Position Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; minimum of five years of accounting experience; minimum of one year of people management experience; or equivalent combination. Must be able to comply with attendance and timeliness policies.

ASQ is conveniently situated in downtown Milwaukee, immediately adjacent to major freeway exits and the robust downtown economy. The Avenue MKE and Riverwalk access provides our employees easy indoor and outdoor access to shopping, restaurants, and coffee shops. Our office space is in a historic building incorporating newly designed workstations, an option for sit/stand desks, and community and collaboration space. We also offer a hybrid work environment that offers staff the option of working from home up to 3 days per week.
