WHAT TO EXPECT

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Galesburg, IL plant, you will be a Production Supervisor, reporting directly to the plant manager.

In Galesburg, we specialize in the production of rubber. Our process starts with raw materials - mixed, heated, and cooled for mill production. Once finished, it is our job to package and ship the products to one of our many customers around the world.

Key responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a safety-first culture grounded in support, collaboration, and care for one another.
  • Ensure expectations are clearly articulated, ensure safe work practices are adhered to, and hold employees accountable for safety infractions.
  • Investigate safety related issues or violations.
  • Provide supportive guidance and training to shop floor employees, focusing on teamwork to enhance production, assembly, and other shop floor operations, ensuring efficiency and collaborative excellence.
  • Maintain open, honest communication to encourage alignment with company goals and the shared vision of exceeding customer expectations.
  • Manage performance, productivity, attendance, quality and housekeeping expectations and drives personal accountability.
  • Foster a culture of respect, fairness, and mutual support, ensuring policies and practices are administered consistently.
  • Ensures policies and work practices are administered in a fair and consistent fashion.
  • Ensure the GEM philosophies are adhered to creating a culture of self-directed behavior and accountability and process and performance excellence.
  • Ensure a continuous focus is placed on process improvement and reduction of waste.
  • Responsible for reporting and tracking of shift metrics.
  • Shift available:
    • Rotating 12-hour shift

ABOUT YOU

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 - 4 years supervisory experience; preferably in manufacturing
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, lead and empower people in a GEM environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, resolve conflict and manage performance expectations
  • Focus resources on value added activities
  • Decisions are consistent with the goals of the organization
  • Working knowledge of equipment and production processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt and flex styles in a quickly changing 'team' environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change
  • Strong team player; proactively able to step in to support other team members as needed
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving, trouble shooting and diagnostic skills
  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills
  • Be able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks while meeting expected timelines
  • Takes action, anticipates the needs of internal and external customers and is self-directed in achieving results
  • Works well under pressure
  • Uses creativity to seek quality solutions and process improvements while keeping in mind the needs of the business
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Be capable of giving presentations to site and regional leadership
  • Possess basic project management skills to allow for facilitation of process improvement activities
  • General computer skills to include proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products. (i.e Excel and Word)
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
