INVISTA has an immediate need for a R&D Analytical Technologist. This position is based at the Texas Technology Center in Katy, TX where you'll contribute as part of a highly collaborative research team. This role creates value by focusing on the effective set up, utilization, testing and improvement of instrumentation & method development.

As a R&D Analytical Technologist, the selected individual will use their technical & strong interpersonal skills to plan, organize, communicate, and make recommendations to a variety of customers. This role requires an ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with a various non-technical and technical partners including Scientists and Engineers. What You Will Do

  • Performing analytical equipment setup, calibration and maintenance
  • Developing and refining analytical methods (including sample preparation, separations, etc.)
  • Developing and refining analytical methods
  • Implementing new analytical methods for characterization of unique substances
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation and equipment
  • Utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint to creating charts, formatting cells/formulas, creating presentations and reports
  • Performing statistical analysis of data, and preparing and presenting associated reports
  • Siting, standing, walking, reaching with hands & arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawl on as business needs permit
  • Lifting and moving up to 25 pounds frequently; occasionally lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
  • Standing for shift durations and willing to work in chemical-protected clothing and equipment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or a STEM discipline with two (2) or more years' experience working in a research lab
  • MS Office Experience
  • Willing and able to wear any or all the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, ACR Flash suits, and encapsulated suits

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Laboratory experience in the operation and maintenance of instrumentation in areas such as ICP-(MS/OES), HPLC, GC, and GC-MS
  • On-line analyzers knowledge or experience
  • Master's degree or higher in Chemistry
