Future Opportunities: Technical Sales Trainee for New Graduates - Focused on Professional Sales

We are looking ahead and planning for upcoming Technical Sales Trainee positions. These positions are designed for new graduates with a focus on Professional Sales. For the initial six months, they will be based at our corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates, IL.

Role Overview:

This role is an excellent opportunity to leverage your technical sales or engineering education in the rapidly evolving field of industrial automation. During the first 4 to 9 months, you'll undergo comprehensive technical training while also gaining real-world experience by working closely with our customers alongside our field sales and engineering teams.

This role will equip you with the training necessary for a successful career at Omron, starting within our Sales organization, and includes a competitive salary with bonus earning potential.

Job Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, or Engineering.
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in technical sales with a focus on face-to-face customer interaction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe tools, with a willingness to learn additional technical skills.
  • Eligibility to comply with U.S. export control regulations, including the potential need for a deemed Export License.


Trainee Timeline Overview:

First 6 Months:



  • Product Exposure: Gain hands-on experience through dedicated training courses and practical application.
  • Develop Sales & Technical Skills: Engage in projects that utilize professional sales techniques while building your technical expertise to solve customer challenges.
  • Learn from the Experts: Travel with our field sales reps to customer sites across the country, learning how to apply Omron technologies and solutions.
  • Inside Sales Experience: Rotate through all Inside Sales Specialist roles, focusing on technologies such as Sensors, Components, and Safety products.


Next 1 - 2 Years:



  • Product Sales Assignments: Relocate to an Omron territory across the U.S. to begin your individual career in core product technology sales.
  • Continued Development: Continue to enhance your professional skills by working with a regional sales team. Our field engineering teams will further your technical training, offering exposure to advanced technologies.
