About the Position
CQ Roll Call is seeking an experienced journalist to direct its political coverage, with an emphasis on House and Senate congressional races. We are investing in our people and our print, digital, data and multimedia tools to enhance our storytelling and are leveraging two quality media brands with a strong history in Washington journalism.
We're looking for someone who generates distinctive story ideas, identifies trends, illuminates issues that drive voters, and can produce content for multiple platforms that drives the debate during a campaign. We seek a journalist who can lead and inspire reporters to produce high-impact, enterprising stories about candidates, voters, influential groups and advocates that go well beyond the horse race.
About the CQ Roll Call Team
CQ and Roll Call report on political power through the lens of Congress, from the campaigns that send members of Congress to Washington to the biographies of those members, the legislative process and the people and organizations shaping it both inside the federal government and outside of it.
About You
You are comfortable digging into the finer details of the campaign and elections process works, and managing a team that reports primarily in Washington but also from the campaign trail and in the parts of the country where the most significant political developments take place.
The salary range for the role is $105,000 - 125,000 per year.
