This is a benefited, full time position generally working 10-hr shifts Monday-Thursday, but may change based on clinic needs. Located at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines in La Jolla.

What you'll do:



  • Scores polysomnography and sleep tests
  • Assists in the coordination, scheduling and dispensing of home sleep apnea tests
  • Works with Medical Director and management staff to provide evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders that may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, and/or patient care and education
  • Coordinates departmental technical/clinical responsibilities to ensure that all are completed in a timely manner
  • Performs Polysomnographic/Sleep Studies according to established protocols and in a timely manner
  • Communicates with the Lead or Charge and other staff members to ensure efficient workflow; identifies problems and suggests solutions that can be utilized to correct them
  • Effectively communicates with personnel and physicians to ensure optimum work productivity
  • Communicates with the leadership staff, physicians, and other staff members as to patient concerns and non-routine requirements
  • Documents in accordance with policy and procedures, to include but not limited to, marking respiratory events

Qualifications

Required Certification/Registration:



  • OPTION 1: Polysomnographic Tech Credentialed by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) AND Licensed by the California Medical Board as a Polysomnographic Technologist (CA-BRPT) AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Associated recognized provider.
  • OPTION 2: Respiratory Therapist Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) AND Licensed by the Respiratory Care Board of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) AND Obtain Sleep Disorders Specialty within 12 months of hire date (RRT-SDS) AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Associated recognized provider.


Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:



  • At least 1 year of experience performing and scoring polysomnograms
  • Experience with initializing and downloading home sleep apnea tests
