COLUMBIA Class Construction Support Engineer - 2nd Shift
Overview Groton COLUMBIA Construction Support Engineering is seeking highly motivated experienced engineers to support construction activities. This is a unique opportunity to support final assembly, test, certification, and delivery of the first of class SSBN 826 COLUMBIA, the Nation's #1 defense priority, on the front lines of engineering. This once in a career opportunity will be challenging and rewarding as the COLUMBIA Waterfront team supports the Groton Shipyard to deliver boats. This is a 2nd shift position located in Groton, CT as part of D476 Construction Support Engineering. With the primary responsibility of proactively supporting COLUMBIA Class construction efforts in the Groton shipyard, the Construction Support Engineering team provides direct support to the shipyard trades and support organizations to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous completion of construction activities in a manner that results in delivery of ships consistent with the design intent. Engineers will interface with Operations, Ship's Management, Planning, Design and Engineering, Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), and PMS397 to act as the primary engineering interface for the Groton shipyard as the COLUMBIA Waterfront engineering organization grows. Responsibilities will include the following:
