Quality Improvement Research Coordinator

The Department of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety is seeking a Research Coordinator to advance the scholarly work of VCU's quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. This position will perform administrative and study-related duties essential to the successful management of quality improvement research and scholarly preparation and dissemination.

Essential Job Statements

  • Be responsible for assisting research tasks within the Department of Quality and Safety.

  • Scheduling and monitoring of research activities and timelines, including preparation and submission of Protocol Review and Oversight Committee (PROC) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) documents

  • Compiling and organizing study data in accordance with VCU data integrity standards

  • Contribute to preparation of reports, abstracts, and manuscripts

  • Collaborate with and report to the Associate Chief Quality and Safety Officer for Research

  • Ensure responsibility and visible commitment of diversity equity and inclusion programs/initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health system.

Employment Qualifications

Required Education:

Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree

Combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree

Licensure/Certification Required:n/a

Licensure/Certification Preferred:

RN or LPN preferred

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience:

Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical procedures

Years and Type of PreferredExperience:

Work experience in quality or clinical settings

Previous experience with clinical research

Previous years of work experience in an educational or team environment.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Candidates should have demonstration of strong initiative and follow-through
