Basic Purpose

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for performing and overseeing all aspects of corporate accounting, including reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and process improvement. The candidate should also be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.

Position Responsibilities



  • Perform month-end close duties, including posting journal entries, monthly analysis, reporting of financial results, and tracking of various key performance indicators, including various Operation Costs Accruals, Claims Reserves, Accounts Payable Aging, Expenses Review and Analysis, Operational Reporting, Purchasing Cards, etc.
  • Prepare and ensure completeness of balance sheet reconciliations in addition to reporting on fluctuations over various time periods.
  • Review and provide explanations of fluctuations in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of common carriers' costs and support the timeliness of settlement.
  • Prepare slide deck and schedules for quarterly reviews.
  • Maintaining Accounting assumptions and methodologies and applying updates according to business requirements and changes
  • Strong knowledge of operational accounting. Lead initiatives and collaborations with other functions in the organization to drive process efficiencies, cost accuracy, and profitability.
  • Identify areas of deficiencies in processes and procedures, review internal controls, and implement best practices to improve the accuracy of financials.
  • Prepare audit requirements and interface with internal and external auditors.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines and compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Provide timely accounting assistance to accounting managers and operational partners; respond to financial questions and/or concerns to meet business needs.
  • Create and maintain process documentation for assigned duties.
  • Assist with the integration of new businesses into accounting systems.
  • Other tasks as assigned.



Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience & Skills)



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or finance
  • CPA and/or Master's degree preferred
  • Seven or more years of accounting experience (at least 5 years in a position of Sr. Accountant or above)
  • Proven experience in continuous process improvement
  • Proficiency in US GAAP and IFRS required
  • Strong proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate with varying levelsof management
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work, take ownership and succeed in a rapidly changing environment
  • Desire to pursue future leadership opportunities



Technical Skills



  • Microsoft Office (high level of proficiency in Excel required including reference lookups, pivots, and nested if functions)
  • Proficiency with SAP is highly desired
  • Proficiency with BlackLine is a plus
