Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:



  • Prepare Requests for Quote, Price, & Information proposals.
  • Reviews vendor quotations and makes recommendations for product sourcing.
  • Collaborates with other departments to procure variety of raw materials, outsourced vessels & skids.
  • Responsible for purchases made by the organization. Evaluates and approve vendors and authorize purchases to determine most desirable suppliers.
  • Manage changes to the Agreement and Purchase Orders through proper Change Order process.
  • Expedites orders and requests as needed.
  • Manages and develops suppliers to improve their performance for quality, cost and delivery.
  • Interacts with Vendors and Quality regarding applicable non-conformance matters.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and conditions of agreements to reduce overall Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with various providers.
  • Conduct market analysis, including research of potential vendors and suppliers.
  • Supports sourcing activities by assisting in the identification of suppliers to provide materials and services at lowest cost while meeting quality standard requirements. (SQDC)
  • Maintain procurement records in SAP through the use of ERP/MRP.
  • Maintain assigned material stock-levels based on historical usage and forecast.
  • Observe lead-times and communicate with Sales, Engineering & Sr. Management.
  • Review, code, approve and allocate freight charges.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required.
  • Provide weekly and monthly progress reports, as required.
  • Provide improvement recommendations to relevant processes, procedures, policies and systems.
  • Works with all appropriate parties to resolve and process discrepant material.
  • Provides quick response to production shortages.
  • Ability to lead and influence others via direct & indirect leadership.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions or service needs from groups of managers, clients, and customers via phone, email, and in person.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other functions/duties as required.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:



  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years of purchasing experience within manufacturing, production, or packaging environment.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Must be a team player with integrity, interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and able to work independently.
  • Ability to examine Production schedules, check inventory levels, identify and communicate changes in the market or demand that may affect availability or pricing of assigned materials categories.
  • Ability to review of compressor application and design, part drawings and work with engineering preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Driving, walking, and standing frequently
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
