Description

Summary / Position Purpose:

The Technician Incoming Inspection I will perform functional tests of electrical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring recording and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established procedures and specifications. Assists in formulating calibration standards.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Tests rental equipment and used units, determines functionality of instruments. Determines whether unit is ready for shipping.
  • Work with lab personnel and equipment operators to ascertain problems with equipment breakdowns and to determine if breakdown is due to human error, mechanical problems or, electronic/electrical problems.
  • Replace defective or missing accessories
  • Set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test and evaluate test equipment.
  • Connect unit to be testing to test equipment such as signal generator, frequency meter or spectrum analyzer
  • Read analog or digital displays that indicate electronic parameters such as voltage, current, power, frequency, distortion, resistance, inductance and capacitance
  • Set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test and evaluate test equipment
  • Record testing results in both systems.
  • Assist as backup to Incoming Inspection or Lab Expeditor.
  • Work scope limited to the functional testing, inspecting of equipment and sampling test equipment


Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • High School Degree/GED plus a minimum of 2 years current and related experience
  • Ability to understand sequence of testing procedures for instruments and electronic equipment
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
