Development of the 4G and 5G UE, including Side Link and Wi-Fi Mesh Technolgies



  • Design, develop, and maintain software for wireless communication devices or systems, with a particular focus on the user equipment (UE) aspect.
  • Implement and optimize protocols and algorithms at both the physical layer (L1) and data link layer (L2) of wireless communication systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of UE software with network infrastructure and other components.
  • Test, debug, and troubleshoot UE software to ensure reliability, performance, and compatibility with various network technologies.


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Previous experience working on UE-related projects within the telecommunications industry or the IoT type of devices is a mandatory
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ for embedded systems development.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication standards including LTE/5G PHY/MAC layers as well as radio interface protocol stack concepts.
  • Familiarity with 4G/5G standards
  • Experience in low-level hardware interaction and optimization for embedded platforms.
  • Experience with embedded operating systems (such as RTOS, Embedded Linux)
  • Familiarity with testing tools, version control systems, and debugging techniques commonly used in embedded software development.
  • Problem solving at system level including complicated RF/PHY/ALGO scenarios
  • Familiarity with the Side Link Protocol for D2D communications
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi and mesh protocols
