JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Engineering's Office of Engineering Research Administration (OERA) at Penn State seeks a dynamic, hardworking, and skilled professional to join its pre-award team as a Proposal and Award Generalist - Advanced Professional.

The College of Engineering supports flexible work arrangements when aligned with the ability to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. Questions about flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the administration of policies and procedures concerning the preparation and development of proposals and contracts for funding-sponsored programs.

  • Reviewing, analyzing, and processing proposals, contracts, and grants from various federal, state, and local agencies, as well as private corporations and foundations.

  • Advising faculty and staff in interpreting and adhering to sponsor and University guidelines and regulations.

  • Preparing budgets for proposals and maintaining contract records and reports for sponsored projects.

  • Assisting in advising and consulting with faculty and staff, Department Heads, Deans, and administrative offices on proposal preparation and contract commitments.

  • Serving as liaison with sponsors and other University offices on behalf of faculty and staff.

  • Assisting in modifying procedures to meet changing regulations and University policies.

Education and Experience:

  • This position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus 3+ years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Experience with electronic proposal submission sites, Microsoft Excel and Word, SIMS Budgets, and SIMBA is preferred.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$56,200.00 - $81,500.00

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
