Standardization specialist - Cloud in Telco

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced computer science or telecommunication professional to contribute to and lead our strategy and standardization efforts in cloud and network applications. The primary responsibility of this role is to build and nurture our internal technology vision toward 6G and beyond and represent our interests in alignment with the internal vision in existing standard bodies.

1. industry bodies engagement:


  • Actively participate in and influence industry standards bodies like 3GPP, ORAN alliance, and others for Cloud Native networks related activities


  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key ecosystem players, including customers and internal marketing and product teams

2. Internal Innovation & Collaboration:


  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within Nokia around cloud-native networks.This includes encouraging cross-functional teams to explore innovative ideas, experiment with emerging technologies, and share best practices.


  • Champion the adoption of cloud-native technologies within Nokia


  • Understanding of mobile network technologies and the value of strategic standards


  • Knowledge of 5G, Telco Cloud, edge computing, Automation and related technologies.


  • Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), microservices architecture, serverless computing, cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CNCF ecosystem & projects.


  • Experience with standard organizations such as 3GPP, ORAN, and IETF.


  • Drive technology with business objectives in mind.

Additionally, you may have:


  • Familiarity with technologies like K8s, OpenShift, OpenStack, and network function virtualization (NFV) and CNF.


  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and agile methodologies.


  • Experience with software packaging, particularly in the application layer.


  • Knowledge of API management, API gateways - previous experience with an API management provider will be positive

Educational background: MSc degree in relevant field. A PhD is a plus.
