Supporting excellence in patient and family-centered care, the Med/Surg Tele provides nursing support to our Overflow unit at the Scripps Mercy Chula Vista hospital. Thriving in an environment where teamwork and leadership support is strong, our nurses enjoy the ability to float to different units and have flexibility with their work schedules.

Our Supervisor of Med Surg / Tele will be responsible for :



  • Ensuring nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety.
  • Under the general direction and support of the Patient Care Manager, the supervisor shares leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans.
  • Ensuring appropriate and timely use of bed placement technology (Teletracking) and adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge.
  • Ensuring the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.


New Hire and Relocation Incentive eligible up to $7K , including relocation.

  • Internal candidates
  • Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago


In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:



  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Maintains current California RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider and all competencies/certifications required of the charge RN on the unit.
  • Two years applicable clinical experience, one of which in a leadership role.
  • Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care. Graduate of an accredited program.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • BSN and/or certification in area of specialty if applicable.
  • 6 months of experience in Acute Care Med Surg/Tele/PCU/Stepdown/LTAC/SNF/Post-Acute RN
  • NIHSS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire
