What's the role?

The role of Compensation Analyst is the key consultative resource to functional business leaders and human resource business partners in all aspects of Hilti North America (HNA) compensation philosophy, policies, and procedures. This role is heavily involved in the design, development, training, and implementation of base pay and variable pay strategies throughout the organization. Open to Plano or Tulsa.

What does the role involve?
  • Manage base and variable pay elements for all sales and indirect sales variable compensation plans (including but not limited to pay mix, bonus plans and incentives)
  • Collaborate in a team environment to recommend and model bonus plan changes to steer business on impact results
  • Complete impact analysis and modeling, as needed, for various compensation updates and proposed changes in partnership with business owner and finance partner
  • Complete job evaluations to ensure market-competitive pay ranges and internal equity within HNA compensation philosophy and guidelines primarily in sales and indirect sales
  • Provide guidance to business functions and human resource partners in interpretation and application of business and human resource policies and global compensation principles
  • Provide guidance to business functions and human resource partners in interpretation and application of employment law (FLSA, ERISA, USERRA), as required
  • Advise HR Partners on more complex and non-routine compensation issues, salary offers, and compensation analysis/reporting
  • Provide reporting to Finance and Payroll for payment of sales and indirect sales bonus plans (typically quarterly)
  • Additional duties, as assigned

What you need is:
  • Bachelor's Degree, required, preferably in Human Resources or Finance
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in business environment, required
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience in compensation and/or compensation/finance analytics, required
  • Experience managing sales and indirect sales compensation or compensation structures, preferred
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), preferred
  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills (advanced formula ability, PivotTables, XLOOKUPs), required, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), preferred
  • HRIS system experience, required (Workday and Market Pay experience, preferred)
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, apply federal, state/provincial, and local employment laws, required
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with the business on compensation-related topics and provide solutions, required
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, required
  • Ability to prepare presentation materials and present to executive leaders, required
  • Demonstrated application of critical analytical and creative thinking skills, required
  • Demonstrated project management, required
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities, required
  • Ability to build and interpret complex financial models projecting cost of variable compensation plans
  • Ability to proactively audit compensation and job data within HR systems to ensure 100% accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team environment
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization, preferred
  • Experience with Canadian provincial requirements, preferred
