Overview

The Manager of the NDT Contracts Oversight group in the Welding Center of Excellence Engineering section will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) contracts within the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of NDT processes and contract management. This is a Supervisory role to oversee the seamless operation and administration of NDT contracts under the Welding Center of Excellence (WCoE). The responsibilities include leading a team to develop strategies for contract management and compliance, including issuing POs, receipting invoices, scheduling work and maintaining OQ compliance. Required to provide leadership to teams and help them improve their skills. Responsible for designing new processes or procedures based on findings from data analysis. The Manager will analyze data to determine patterns and draw conclusions about business operations. Will be responsible for communicating with top management regarding results of analyses and recommendations for action.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage a team and collaborate with Major Projects, Transmission Maintenance and Construction to support field work by ensuring NDT vendors are available when needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Supply Chain, NDT vendors and service providers.
  • Oversee the issuance of work orders and manage the invoicing and payment process for NDT services.
  • Schedule NDT vendors for ongoing projects and ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Implement a tracking system for vendor hours and services to ensure accurate billing.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations by managing NDT certifications (OQ program) and quality plans.
  • Identify process automation opportunities using data analytics and technology to provide efficiencies and create data transparency.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field and 3 years' full-time related work experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field and 5 years' full-time related work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Must have 2 years of supervisory experience. Required
  • Must possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Required
  • Must possess work experience in data analytics, and financial management. Required
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills. Required
  • Must have experience with visualization and/or Business Intelligence tools such as Excel, Tableau, Oracle BI and/or Power BI. Required
  • Experience with NDT techniques and quality assurance processes. Preferred
  • Experience in gas industry or with pipeline projects. Preferred
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to NDT services. Preferred

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
