Overview

Exciting opportunity to help lead the Innovation team! As a Senior Innovation Manager, you will manage the Innovation function's initiatives, construction innovation research, and digital transformation development projects to implement efficient and profitable construction solutions. This role will oversee the Innovation team to ensure deliverables and objectives are being met for the organization.



What you will be doing

    Leads and manages Innovation project teams and workshop group activities to develop and implement efficient and profitable construction methods and technology for the company.
  • Oversees Innovation Strategy in alignment with leadership and ensures objectives of the function are met.
  • Works closely with Company and Operations leadership to ensure project schedules and performance is on track.
  • Applies cutting-edge innovation strategies to projects. Evaluates opportunities for project deployment.
  • Leads testing workshops and modeling in support of project deployment.
  • Oversees the development and accuracy of internal database for Innovation research and program opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with external vendors and other organizations regarding university practices and technology leaders.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with Flatiron Sister Companies to align to the broader organization's Innovation objectives and strategies.
  • Works closely with champion groups to develop innovation tools, software, policies, procedures and support implementation timeline.
  • Leads the Innovation team and ensures all objectives are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintains knowledge of Company's values and strategic plan.
  • Performs additional assignments per management's direction.


What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 15+ years' experience working in heavy civil construction methods and practices required.
  • Experience in computer applications, MS Office Suite, and emerging technologies (IoT, AI, machine learning, robotics) preferred.
  • Experience in leading-edge technologies such as BIM preferred.
  • Experience with technology application in construction and digital transformation required.
  • Experience managing teams required.
  • Developed knowledge and interest in emerging technologies, software, and systems that create efficiencies in construction industry.
  • Developed knowledge of current construction practical applications.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, and constructability.
  • Knowledge of technology applications such as BIM, MicroStation, and SYNCHRO preferred.
  • Able to collect, record, and track project tasks and achievements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Skilled researching, innate questioning and natural curiosity.
  • Proven and professional communication, networking, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to influence with or without authority. Able to connect and communicate well with all types of stakeholders.
  • Growing ability to identify innovation opportunities in current construction practices.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills required.
  • Skilled in training others, both internal and external constituents, in emerging and new technology best practices.
