We are currently seeking a Quality Control Coordinator who will be part of our Data Services Department. JOB SUMMARY: The QC Coordinator is responsible for reviewing customer requirements, comparing them with data and production settings, and validating output. This includes checking data files, reviewing sample outputs, and ensuring the final production meets established standards. Acts as a quality control checkpoint to ensure proper setup and compliance with customer specifications. Essential Job Functions:
- Support accounts or projects by utilizing departmental resources, evaluating individual project or client needs, as well as tracking and maintaining records of non-conformance to standard outputs.
- Provide a series of quality control protocols to ensure project meets client specifications and instructions. Review quality of final product before release to client, present proof samples for internal review/approval prior to delivery to client for selection and/or approval.
- Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes within industry, as well as follow established company and department QC and SOP standards.
- Provide off hours/weekend support for a 24/7 manufacturing operation as needed.
- Working in a team environment, coordinate with Project Management/Customer Service, Production and other departments to move jobs efficiently through its lifecycle process, at the highest level of quality and accuracy, and on schedule.
Requirements Education & Experience
- Two (2) years' technical data analysis, manipulation and integration experience in the publishing industry preferred.
- Direct Mail print related experience and basic understanding of USPS guidelines for letter package formatting.
- Understanding of Digital printing specifications for color matching and imposition.
- Mathematical and effective communication skills required: ability to calculate numbers/fractions/decimals in all units of measure, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with external and internal clients.
- Ability to ensure a high level of customer service to the members/customers is met or exceeded.
Technical Skill
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Lync, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver).
- Variable Data Print (VDP) software such as GMC Inspire, Page Flex, XMPie, Xtreme Dialogue, Fusion Pro is a plus.
- If-then-else relational logic, scripting, and object-oriented programming languages a plus.
- Hands on quality control systems and ability to discern provided client instruction relating to validation of output.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
